Good hearts

    Narrated Anas bin Malik (Radi-Allahu 'anhu): The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Allah has appointed an angel in the womb, and the angel says, 'O Lord! A drop of discharge (i.e.of semen), O Lord! a clot, O Lord! a piece of flesh.' And then, if Allah wishes to complete the child's creation, the angel will say. 'O Lord! A male or a female? O Lord! wretched or blessed (in religion)? What will his livelihood be? What will his age be?' The angel writes all this while the child is in the womb of its mother."
    Bukhari Vol. 4 : No. 550

    To find good-hearted people, is like searching for a raw diamond. Sometimes I am left shocked at how much of bad is out there. It is a wonder if our personalities/ good-hearts are solely dependent on our fate's direction or if childhood culturing, environment and values affect that as we so often think. As much as we like to think people change, they don't really...but we can become wiser, we can become purer in our thoughts, we can purify our hearts. Only if Allah wills.  Wa Allahu A3lam

Why I love flowers

Take care of your soul روح‎

    And they ask you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) concerning the Rûh (the Spirit); Say: "The Rûh (the Spirit) is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little."[al-Isra 17:85]

    The ruh (روح) ....

    ...is the most important immortal aspect of a person, according to islamic belief - it is not well elaborated in Quraan and hadith however we know that it is connected to the body in five different ways:

    1. Its connection to the body as a foetus in his mother’s womb.

    2. Its connection to the body after a person is born.

    3. Its connection to the body when a person is asleep, when the soul is connected in one way and separated from it in another way.

    4. Its connection to the body in al-Barzakh برزخ (the period between a person's death and the Day of Resurrection), when it has departed from the body and separated from it, but is not separated completely in such a way that there is no connection at all. We have mentioned at the beginning of this reply that there are ahaadeeth and reports which indicate that the soul is returned to the body when somebody sends the greeting of salaam to a deceased person. This returning is of a special nature which does not mean that the life is restored to the body before the Day of Resurrection.

    5. Its connection to the body on the Day when bodies will be resurrected. Your soul and your heart are connected - it's what keeps us centered as humans. To keep the heart and soul happy, is to exude goodness in everything we do, to adhere to the straight path away from evil. The concept of "sickness of the soul" is very much alive, more so in the modern era, where evil is widespread. As it becomes absorbed in abundance of worldy matters, in confrontation with bad or evil, the ruh/soul becomes more inclined towards "sickness".

    In everything we do, we need to question ourselves and hold firmly onto our beliefs and prayer. There is no greater gift that Allah has bestowed upon us than the Quran, the five pillars of islam, the sunnah of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), repentance and the gift of dua/prayer.

    We all make mistakes, we all do wrong  - there is none more patient than Allah - His Kursi (footstool/throne) extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. Turn to Him - Converse with Him, the Almighty, the wise, the hearer, seer and knower of all known and unknown.

     "And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.''

Has it been that long already?

    Its been two months since I have written anything and that comes with good reasons, like

    (1) I have been working real hard on some cool work projects;

    (2) Been on vacation to South Africa;

    (3) Spent good lazy time at home; and

    (4) Been on and off sick with the change of weather sniffles

    None the less,  I am somewhat officially back and would just like to say, its a great day today. Its the end of the work week, the weather in Qatar is dull and not too hot and I am on time off work at the moment.

    So here is this week's hadith:

    -------------

    Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim: The Prophet mentioned the Fire and turned his face aside and asked for Allah's protection from it, and then again he mentioned the Fire and turned his face aside and asked for Allah's protection from it and said, "Protect yourselves from the Hell-Fire, even if with one half of a date, and he who cannot afford that, then (let him do so) by (saying) a good, pleasant word."

     Narrated Abu Huraira: I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Who will be the luckiest person who will gain your intercession on the Day of Resurrection?" The Prophet said, "O Abu Huraira! I have thought that none will ask me about this Hadith before you, as I know your longing for the (learning of) Hadiths. The luckiest person who will have my intercession on the Day of Resurrection will be the one who said, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' sincerely from the bottom of his heart."

     Narrated Sahl bin Sa'd: The Prophet said, "Seventy-thousand or seven-hundred thousand of my followers (the narrator is in doubt as to the correct number) will enter Paradise holding each other till the first and the last of them enter Paradise at the same time, and their faces will have a glitter like that of the moon at night when it is full."

Weekly Hadith

    Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: A strong believer is better and is more lovable to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone, (but) cherish that which gives you benefit (in the Hereafter) and seek help from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything (in the form of trouble) comes to you, don't say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so”, but say: “Allah did that what He had ordained to do” for your "if" opens the (gate) for the Satan.

    Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet never criticized any food (presented him), but he would eat it if he liked it; otherwise, he would leave it (without expressing his dislike).

    Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet said, "You will meet Allah barefooted, naked, walking on feet, and uncircumcised."

    Murder bid charge for cartoonist attacker

    Danish police yesterday charged a Somali man with the attempted murder of a cartoonist whose caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) sparked protests around the world.The axe-wielding 28-year-old broke into Kurt Westergaard’s home late Friday, screaming for “revenge” and “blood.” The cartoonist hid in a panic room with a five-year-old granddaughter and called the police.Police said he threw the axe at one officer who arrived on the scene, just missing him, then attacked with a knife before they shot him in the arm and thigh.He was stretchered into court at Aarhus, northwest Denmark, yesterday wearing a hospital gown and covered with blankets, the Ritzau agency reported.He had one arm bandaged, a leg in a splint and a towel over his face to avoid identification, media reports said, while describing him as bearded with a shaved head.Charged with double attempted murder, he was remanded in custody for four weeks, the first two of them in solitary confinement, said a court spokesman.Although the accused has not been named, Danish intelligence officers say he lived near the capital Copenhagen and had been linked both to Somalia’s radical Shebab Islamic movement and the leaders of Al Qaeda in east Africa.“He is also suspected of being implicated in terrorist activities when he was in east Africa,” the statement added.“The individual arrested has also been a member of a terrorist network implanted in Denmark that has been under surveillance by PET for a long time.”Somalia’s radical Islamic Shebab group hailed the attack.“We appreciate the incident in which a Muslim Somali boy attacked the devil who abused our Prophet Muhammad and we call upon all Muslims around the world to target people like (him),” spokesman Sheikh Ali Muhamud Rage said.
